This week we have seen schools all over Cheshire continue to struggle with absenteeism because of ongoing COVID-19 scares. Government departments have reported the problem nationally is as high as 1 in 8 students not in school, with the situation looking like it’s going to get worse..Thankfully it appears children are unaffected by Covid-19 medically, however the damage to their education is mounting week by week.
The problem with absenteeism doesn’t just affect the child taking time off, the impact snowballs across their whole year group as teachers struggle to keep all students at the same level in the relevant subjects. The extra money offered by the Government to schools, equates to between £150 to £250 per child for the school year, which will simply go nowhere to address the shortfall of a missed term, never mind the ongoing disruption schools now face for the 2020/2021 year.
Parents are now starting to wake up as they realise that they cannot count on the Government to help the schools and their kids now face even more disruption. Here at My Own Tutor Cheshire we have seen an increase in enquiries from parents asking about how we can help their children. The best advice we can offer parents is to not wait until a problem occurs and to give them the extra support now.
My Own Tutor Cheshire offers a unique service, compared to just finding a tutor once a week. For years 1 to 11, covering 15 GCSE subjects, we offer an online Home Study Programme which students can access at any time to work through exercises and watch lessons. The more time they spend logged in, the quicker it builds a profile which identifies their strengths and weaknesses. Our Virtual Tuition Centres then offers the extra support to focus on those areas to improve or even just help with a homework subject they are currently studying.
Our most popular tuition package which includes our Home Study Programme and 1 (1hr) Virtual Tuition Centre session per week, is only £18. This comes down to just £14.40 per week with our 20% launch offer, for the life of your subscription! Our launch offer finishes this weekend, so don’t miss out (just use coupon code ‘INTRO20’ at checkout). You can also call us directly on 01625 464960 (open 7 days a week) if you’d like to speak with one of our tutor team for an informal chat.
